Alarms System Key Fobs

Home alarm systems work!

Remember, you are 4 times less likely to be burglarized with a monitored home alarm system. And, it’s not just that, you are less likely to have unsavory individuals in and around your home. That means you are less likely to have encounters with bad people. With an alarm system you are looking to provide a good deterrent to crime as well as to put you and your family in a better safety position. We of course believe in the deterrent factor of having a home alarm system. Being 400% less likely to be burglarized as well as greatly reducing your chances of running into bad people in your home is well worth the monthly monitoring fee.

A really good testament to the effectiveness of home alarm systems is the homeowner’s insurance discount given by insurance companies. Most insurance companies will give up to a 20% discount simply for having a monitored alarm system. Why do they do this? Well, it’s simple, you are less likely to have something bad happen and therefore you are less likely to file an insurance claim so they give you a discount. In our experience you will save about $10 to $15 per month on average. You could save more or less, simply check with your insurance provider as to what they offer. Either way, this simply makes having a monitored alarm that much more affordable.

Now, Walker Home Security highly recommends setting your home alarm at very least two different times. The first is at night while everyone is sleeping in the home. Luckily we don’t hear of many break-ins at night while people are sleeping but it does happen. Either way it provides a lot of peace-of-mind to have the system set while you are sleeping. It is definitely comforting when you hear a noise at night. The second time to set your alarm is of course anytime the home is left unattended. Most people underestimate this and only set their system when they are gone from the home for long periods of time. But, one of the most common times that we hear about break-ins is when people have just left their home for and hour or two. The problem is if someone knows your schedule or physically sees your car leaving the neighborhood then you are an easy target. So, home alarm systems should be set every single time the home is left unattended. That way the home is clear and safe to re-enter when you get home.

Naturally you would want to set your home alarm system any time you think it would help you but we hope that the above examples will motivate you to use your system and put you and your family in a safer position.
