Hardwired vs. Wireless Security Systems
In general, we would install hardwired security devices wherever possible. If you have a home built in the last 10 years then it is highly probable that your home was pre-wired for a Security Alarm dSystem anyway at which point the entire home is hardwired. On the other hand, if your home wasn’t pre-wired then most 1-story home will be hardwired for an Alarm System because our techs have access to run and hide all wires in the walls and attic. This is a professional installation with no wires visible.
There are two main reasons that hardwired components like door contacts and motions are used in favor of wireless. The first reason is that with hardwired alarm system components, you never have to replace a battery. This is a big deal because if you end up with 10 wireless components then you have a lot of batteries in need of replacement every several years. The second reason is cost. Wireless alarm components are more expensive and cost you more to have installed because they have batteries, computer chips and transmitters which raise the cost of the equipment. But, regardless of which you use in your home both Wireless Secuirty Alarm Systems and Hardwired Alarm Systems work great and will provide you with great protection.
If you have a two-story home that wasn’t pre-wired or lack of attic access in general then you will probably need a Wireless Alarm System. Not to worry, it’s simply a different application with the same result. Whatever your needs are, we look forward to being of service.
