In general, we would install wireless security systems wherever possible. If you have a home built in the last 10 years then it is highly probable that your home was pre-wired for a Security Alarm System. At this point you have a hardwired security alarm.
A few years ago, the answer to the above question would have been opposite. However, today's hardwired security alarms are converted to wireless security system signaling anyway. Most of the new technology today is wireless and as such it all needs to communicate the same way.
The other factor that in the past that would dictate hardwired security alarm was the cost of the wireless security system equipment but that to has changed. Since almost all new security system devices are wireless, the cost of wireless security systems vs hardwired security alarms is now very similar. In other words, this is another factor that has led to more and more security systems being totally wireless.
Don't worry, if you have a hardwired security alarm, this is still an advantage with most wireless security systems today. Those hardwired areas can usually be wired in to the new wireless security systems and in some cases have the signal mimic a wireless signal. In other words, you most likely will be able to take advantage of your hardwired windows etc... (be sure to check with our phone support for this just to make sure - things like age and brand of a security system determine this)
If you have a two-story home that wasn’t pre-wired or lack of attic access in general then you will need a fully Wireless Security System no matter what.. Whatever your needs are, we look forward to being of service.
