There’s a lot of confusion out there when it comes to which Security Company to choose and who they all are. So, we thought we would shed some light on the topic.
First, there are local Security Companies that are your Servicing Provider. This is the category that we are in and what we think is the best type of Alarm Company to go with. There only just a few strong local and older Security Companies in each market. This does not include nationwide Companies or dealers for them. With local Security Companies like Walker Home Security you will get a great deal on your rates combined with great local service from very knowledgeable people who work right here in the metroplex. This also provides you with a great service experience when you call in since we are knowledgeable and care about our local customers. This is opposed to paying high prices and getting traded to a national call center for frustrating and typical standard service of many national Companies by their entry level personnel.
The Second type of Security Company is the National or Regional Security Alarm Companies. This would be our second choice. You will pay much more for monthly monitoring, more for activation and more for ongoing service. Also, you get traded to a national call center of some sort that tends to have operators that don’t know the product or service as well. Then, you will also tend to pay more for ongoing service calls and more for upgrades etc… This is still second as opposed to third because at least the national Company has been in business for a while with some long term support staff. However, we of course would not pick them over a local that has been in business for a while with structure and long term support staff.
The Third type and what you will click on 90% of the time online are dealers for the national Companies. They would be the least desirable choice of all 3 because they are just sales shops for another Security Company and typically have been in business a short while. This group constitutes the majority of choices and they seem to be coming and going and paying to have ads placed online. The problem with them is that they lack time in business, the employees or subs are new and have less experience and their primary goal is just to get you sold off to another Alarm Company. This can lead to a poor installation and a misrepresentation of what ongoing service will be. While the sales call itself is slick, the ongoing service won’t have that personal feel that you got while being sold by the sales shop or dealer.
When you choose a strong local Security Company you get a great deal with experienced local service from a Company whose goal is to produce a happy customer that we then provide service to for many years to come.
Years ago, most Security Companies were local companies but as this industry consolidated you were left with just a couple of National Security Alarm Companies that had dozens of dealers working for them per market. When that happened, the market pricing went up and the service levels went down on average. But, Walker Home Security has been here through it all providing the same great local service and the same great monitoring rates for over 14 years now.
